Job Description
OBJECTIVE
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for providing the over-all analysis, coordinate, and follow up of all worldwide inspections and transportation services, as well as all activities related to the importation/exportation of goods and trade compliance. This includes activities related to freight, warehousing, consolidation, storage, packaging, customs clearance, and control of hazardous and oversized shipments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
· Coordinates claims activities, evaluates proposals presented by suppliers and other parties and presents alternative proposals, as needed
· Proposes solutions to solve disputes with customers of discrepant shipment/receiving errors and service acceptance registry issues
· Reviews calculus of liquidated damages for delay claims to suppliers in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Purchase Orders
· Analyzes suppliers’ written objections concerning liquidated damages for delay claims
· Coordinates the control of activities associated with expediting, inspections, receipt of materials and equipment, physical verification and entering of related information into the automated system
· Coordinates and follows up on inspection and freight assignments on time
· Coordinates and monitors warehouse inventories and actions taken to expedite the shipment, reception, and customs clearance of goods in route to their final destinations
· Coordinates activities in order to allow forwarding agents and Customs Brokers to have access to specific and detailed technical data so that they may assign the tariff classification of the goods
· Prepares and obtains manager’s approval on commercial recommendations related to rates and delivery terms
· Approves or declines payments for demurrages and delays accordingly
· Assists end users in clarifications related to invoices for services rendered by international carriers, freight forwarders and domestic carriers
· Participates in negotiations with forwarders and carriers
· Analyzes rates, response times, and overall performance of inspection companies, carriers, and forwarders
· Provides training, guidance, and supervision to the Contracts Specialists and Analysts
· Proposes KPI’s for Logistics Services
· Follows up on savings and KPI’s
· Performs other related duties and relevant special projects, as required
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

REQUIREMENTS
Education Level:
· A four-year college degree or business degree or a combination of both education and experience.
Years of Experience:
· A minimum of five years of related experience
Travel Requirements: 10% - 20% of the time in the United States, Mexico, or as required.
Language: Fluent in English and Spanish
Special Requirements:
· Ample knowledge of logistics processes, customer service management, customs, warehousing, and import/ export trade compliance
· Computer Skills – Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Excel Pivot Tables
· Reasoning Ability – Ability to generate reports and analyze data, Ability to make public presentations
