Purpose. As a key member of the department, the Procurement Analyst/Buyer will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining optimal supply par levels based on manufacturing forecasts and play a crucial role in shaping and optimizing procurement processes. The position will be responsible for daily ordering, tracking and communication with all suppliers, ensuring a streamlined inflow of supplies and contributing to the growth and success of the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management System:
- Implement inventory management system and practices to respond swiftly to evolving product development and market demands.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and forecasting teams to establish and maintain appropriate supply par levels.
- Ensure that inventory levels align with production forecasts to meet demand and minimize stockouts.
- Order Management:
- Place and manage orders with all suppliers to include providing forecasts to suppliers, monitoring performance and pricing, and addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, adapting quickly to changes in demand, production schedules, and market trends.
- Quoting/RFP:
- Obtain competitive quotes from vendors and assist in development and management of Request for Proposals (RFPs).
- Cost Analysis:
- Conduct thorough cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining product quality and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and manage system for tracking price changes from suppliers.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and assist in development of strategies to mitigate them.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, R&D, distribution, sales and regulatory affairs.
- Serve as key team member on software implementations related to supply chain.
- Starting your job duties on time, staying on the job throughout the assigned shift to complete duties properly, and attending all scheduled meetings and appointments
Skills & Abilities:
- Proven ability to develop and implement basic inventory management system with par levels.
- Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt quickly to change, and drive results in a dynamic setting.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and manage relationships with agile and responsive suppliers.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards applicable to the tissue, biologics and/or medical device industry (e.g., FDA, AATB, ISO).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Experience in purchasing, vendor management and logistics specifically in the medical device, biologics, laboratory or similar industries.
- Ability to secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years experience as an analyst or buyer (preferably both) in a manufacturing industry.
- Valid Class “C” driver’s license
