This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Lockport Operations on a full-time basis.

The Role
The GM Lockport Components Team is looking for a talented and highly motivated engineer to fill a Process Engineering role in the Forward Program Group. This position will be responsible for the design and Implementation of manufacturing processes for assembly and test of heat exchangers in both EV and ICE future vehicles. As a Process Engineer you would be working in a team environment including other Process Engineers, Controls Engineer, Product Engineers, outside suppliers, and UAW hourly team members to help develop and implement tooling and equipment to achieve flawless launches on our new programs.

What You’ll Do
Work with Product Engineering to ensure that new product designs are manufacturable and will meet cost, quality, and timing targets established.
Develop equipment and tooling concepts to drive process and quality improvements.
Source and implement new tooling and equipment designed to meet safety, ergonomics, quality, product, manufacturing, and cost requirements on time.
Lead cross functional teams for PFMEA, G-Risk, design, and process flow reviews.
This position would involve occasion travel to tooling and equipment suppliers.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Minimum 2+ years of High-Volume Manufacturing experience
Experienced in 3-D design
Basic knowledge of stamping dies, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical controls
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience in stamping, metal forming, and leak testing
Proficient in Solid Works or NX
Proficient in FANUC robotics
Advanced knowledge of PFMEA processes
