Process Engineer Plastics Injection Molding
We are looking for a Process Engineer to join our clients growing team. They are a profitable, multi-location Medical Molder with plans to grow substantially in the next 2 years.
In this role, you will be aiding in part and tool design, establishing the process for new product launches utilizing scientific Injection Molding principles and analytical tools, and improving everyday operations through continuous improvement projects.

Job Description
- Lead new tooling qualifications, establish molding process parameters using varying statistical techniques (DOE, SPC, etc).
- Lead implementation of standardized molding process limits by use of data analysis to improve control and elimination of defective product.
- Lead process improvement initiatives for the molding team such as cycle time reduction, material conversion, statistical capability improvements, etc.
- Lead Six Sigma teams for root cause determination of part defect elimination or cost saving initiatives.
- Identifies requirements, establishes specifications, and recommends purchase of primary and secondary plastics processing machinery and equipment.
- Support the development of new injection molds by participating in mold vendor design proposals and attending mold trials.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree, Preferably in Plastics or Mechanical Engineering or 10 years of relevant experience.
- 5+ yrs. hands-on experience with high-volume Injection Molding.
- Thorough understanding of the Scientific Injection Molding process and studies (Gate Seal, Flow, Cooling Time, etc.).
- Ability to troubleshoot issues using disciplined root cause analysis tools
- Travel up to 15% to support mold trials, customer issues, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experienced with ISO 13485
- Experience with small intricate plastic parts with tight tolerances.
- CAD software experience such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.
- Certified RJG Master Molder I and/or II
- Certified Six Sigma Black or Green Belt with expertise in Minitab applications.
- Experience with automation/robotics.
Compensation ranges from $100-$120k + 16% bonus and is based on relevant work experience and performance.
