Senior Process Engineer, Amazon Air

• Bachelor's degree
• 5+ years of directly managing and responsible for multiple large projects experience

The Process Engineer (PE) team is a group of operational leaders driving process stabilization, standardization, and continuous improvement. Candidates will manage the inverse relationship between cost and service, developing innovative ideas which create value for our customers. PE's have customer impact by identifying and solving operational deficiencies, deep diving data, using engineering principles in the development of processes and planning tools, and project management skills to implement change. PE’s act locally, but build globally, standardizing AIR’s operations.
This position is expected to be in the office in Rockford, IL.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop labor standards through work measurement
• Create labor models and planning to support both sort and ramp operations
• Project management from conception to completion
• Conduct and lead project meetings with Senior and Regional leaders
• Assess and optimize the processes and equipment used in the facility
• Typical projects could include spearheading a floor layout redesign, evaluating the ergonomic needs and issues within work areas, or conducting a capacity planning and analysis study including the operational execution plan
• Understand, articulate, and implement mechanisms that drive efficient process
• Evaluate flight schedules to determine operational impacts
• Calculate ground support equipment (GSE) needs at regular intervals
• Plan and design systems that meet business needs by improving integration of people, materials, equipment, software, and finance
• Recommend and implement changes to safety procedures, work methods, and labor standards
• Travel domestically up to 10% of the time

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Rockford, IL, USA

• Master's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field
• Experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other operations engineer tools
• Experience and strong technical background in relevant fields of automated or non-automated material handling equipment
• Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing
• Experience with benchmarking technical equipment and metrics
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.)
