Job Title:Process Engineer
Department:Engineering
Reports To: Engineering Manager
SUMMARY
Specializes in creating, implementing and sustain manufacturing methods and systems, with the goal of minimizing cost while increasing productivity. Process Engineer will create and oversee standardized production procedures; maintaining all documentation for products such as work instructions and determining ways to minimize operating costs. Characterize, verify and validate manufacturing processes to meet various regulatory requirements.
JOB FUNCTIONS
· Establishes and implements standards, documentation, best practices and procedures for all new and existing products to ensure manufacturing capabilities, assist the quality assurance and customer specifications.
· Development of cost estimates for new tooling/equipment for new programs and engineering changes,
· Continually improves manufacturing methods and process/design changes to facilitate increased profit potential and cost reductions,
· Interprets GD&T to determine feasibility, process steps, required and cost to manufacture products,
· Feasibility analysis of new products and engineering changes. Collaboration with Product Development to resolve feasibility issues while maintaining fit, form and function,
· Facilitate development of PFMEAs and lead the reduction of the RPN store,
· Ability to perform within the organization’s APQP system and monitor KPIs for this process and makes the necessary corrections to ensure targeted performance is met,
· Promotes continuous improvement of production efficiency and customer satisfaction,
· Acts as a liaison between manufacturing, customers and projects that have been subcontracted,
· Conduct and analyze time studies to determine operator work instructions and line balance,
· Adheres to the process to ensure equipment is operational and safety procedures are followed to maintain high safety standards,
· Design cell layout including material storage and tooling locations,
· Develop Process Flow and PFMEA for designated processes,
· Review defect & warranty data to drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
· Participate in cross functional teams to complete the following:
Ø Control Plan
Ø PFEP
Ø 8D
· Other duties as required or assigned by manager

· Cradle to grave experience individually, specifying and implementing new equipment in the plant troubleshooting manufacturing problems and resolving customer concerns.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
· Development of PFMEAs and implementation of measures to reduce RPN,
· Application of Lean concepts to manufacturing process design and implementation,
· Implementation of mechanical and electronics based error proofing,
· Specification of controls systems and troubleshooting system functionality
· Modapts and/or MOST Certified
· AutoCAD
· Six-Sigma Greenbelt
· Project Management Skills
· Application of GD&T to fixture and gage design – preferred
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific filled in Industrial Engineering, Operations Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent or equivalent experience
· Five to eight years related work experience in a manufacturing setting. Additional education may be substituted for experience and vice versa.
