Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Factory Zero on a full-time basis.

The Role:

The Manufacturing Process Engineer will be expected to to work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision. You will support the development of Manufacturing Processes, equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence, and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines, and facilities necessary to produce parts. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or assembly/plant activity where creativity and initiative are exercised.

What You’ll Do (Responsibiliites):

  • Defining the Manufacturing Process(es)

  • Ensure efficient material flow within RESS Assembly

  • Assisting with the design, construction, integration, plant installation, launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for production

  • Problem-solve (analyze data, determine root causes, develop implementation plans) and resolve issues which are affecting RESS metrics and document appropriately

  • Working with the team to develop and test advanced process technology.

  • Build and maintain working relationships with employees, union, management, and suppliers

  • Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities

  • Understand and implement PFMEA, Process Control Plans, Manufacturing Processes, and management systems as they relate to production operations

  • Support implementation of Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) and Business Plan Deployment (BPD) activities

Additional Description

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Minimum 1 year of Automotive Manufacturing experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience

  • Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and learn new systems

  • Ability to work any shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd)

  • Ability to work

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • 2 or more years as a Process Engineer within Automotive Manufacturing

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field
