Description:
The Process Automation Lead works on a variety of automation projects, performing as a team leader and on occasion serves as a team member. This position is intended to interact with specific clients within a specific industry, but may interact with others, to understand and develop automation requirements and transform them into effective software solutions. This is done through the use of software engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria; using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. This position establishes client relationships and mentors less experienced engineers. Strong knowledge of Rockwell PLCs and HMI with PlantPAx experience required; Experience with Schneider, Siemens, Wonderware, Ignition, Proficy is a plus; strong written and verbal communication skills, must be team-oriented. Experience in Process Automation is required; experience with batching and motion control systems considered a plus.
Specifications:
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited college, university, or applicable experience.
- Ideally, 5 years or more of controls, automation, and electrical troubleshooting and start-up experience.
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE), Engineer In Training (EIT), or Professional Engineering (PE) certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of Rockwell PLCs and HMI with PlantPAx experience required
- Varied industrial background is a plus. Process knowledge in industries such as feed, grain, oilseed, agricultural, food, and manufacturing desired.
- Experience with infrastructure design and implementation utilizing OT best practices desired.
- Ability to travel approximately 25-30%, both locally and overnight. This could include consecutive weeks onsite for a given startup to meet client's schedule.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
Attributes and Expectations:
- Perform design and engineering functions in accordance with accepted practices and company standards.
- Prepare project scopes of work, bill of material, design concepts, and cost estimates. Assist in gathering field data and preparing project specifications.
- Capable and resourceful in obtaining information needed from the client, internal project team, subject matter experts, code libraries, previous projects, and other known resources to innovatively solve problems.
- Ability to work independently effectively and lead project teams of diverse capabilities and backgrounds. Understand the growth mindset of embracing the challenge to expand teams to support the project and client needs. Developing project work plans and flows to allow a team to effectively help support project.
- Develop cost estimates.
- Develop high-quality, error-free industrial software programs in keeping with the defined project requirements.
- Coordinate & collaborate design with other members of the project team.
- Prepare project correspondence as required.
- Support onsite software startup and commissioning activities
- Troubleshoot electrical devices and control circuits.
- Maintain positive client and internal team relationships on projects assigned. Treat others with respect.

We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications, ranging from $76,000 to $128,000 annually/hourly. The final salary will be determined based on various factors including candidate's experience and qualifications
