Job description

At Lucence, we envision a world where cancer is overcome with earlier detection and timely treatment. Through the use of our ultrasensitive total liquid biopsy platforms, we bring clarity to cancer care by profiling cancer both accurately and affordably. Join us in bringing better cancer care to the world as our Laboratory Automation Process Engineer.

Key responsibilities:

  • Developing, testing, and optimizing Laboratory Automation systems and all related software tools.

  • Integrating automation systems with other relevant systems for sample tracking and data management.

  • Programming and troubleshooting liquid handling robotics platforms.

  • Executing the necessary documentation for equipment validation, operating SOPs, reporting of issues, and proposal presentation for new solutions.

  • Providing prompt troubleshooting support for laboratory operations and collaborating effectively with all relevant stakeholders to implement improvements and new workflows.

  • Continually analyzing workflows, identifying bottlenecks and developing solutions to improve the laboratory's efficiency, throughput, cost, and quality.

To be a good fit for this role, you would have:

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of Science or Engineering.

  • Relevant working experience with next generation sequencing (NGS) assays and liquid handling robotics platforms (required).

  • Strong technical understanding of Laboratory Automation tools used and operation concepts in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).

  • Experience working within regulated environments (e.g. IVD, LDT).

  • Experience developing laboratory processes from conceptualization to process validation and implementation.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • A positive mindset and the ability to lead and work with others even when the going gets tough.

  • Exceptional attention to detail in the monitoring of quality data and troubleshooting of issues.

  • Fully vaccinated status against COVID-19. (Vaccination is a requirement unless medical or religious accommodation is requested and approved.)

Please send your CV to hr@lucence.com indicating the position you are applying for in the subject line. In addition, get creative and tell us in the email in less than 100 words (in any language you like) why you think you will be a right fit for Lucence. Don't limit yourself to a job description or job title, the world needs every skill you have.
