Private Lending Bookkeeper / Executive Assistant
This is an opportunity at a prominent 50 plus year real estate conglomerate’s lending arm.
(This role has the potential for 1 day a week remote after 90 day trial period.)
The perfect candidate will be detailed, multi-tasker, ability to work independently, pleasant in person and on the phone, possess a can-do attitude, and have the desire to grow with the company.
Primary Duties include, but are not limited to:
Bookkeeping
-Maintain the books for the lending companies and provide reports for parent company personnel
- Monthly bank reconciliation (multiple accounts)
- Prepare, 1099 and 1096 interest statements
- Bank deposits (primarily from desktop)
- Accounts payable/receivable
- Communicate with colleagues on rent collection / defaults for foreclosed properties
- Maintain rent roll
- General office duties
- Maintain files (both physical and electronically)
- Pull credit reports
- Set-up new client / loan files
- Communicate with clients on items needed for the loan(s)
- Work with attorneys and title personnel
- Coordinate closing(s) and funding
- Record the loan in QuickBooks
- Receive and post loan/interest payments
- Pull property tax/utility records
- Help Prepare construction draws for approval/disburse funds
- Coordinate with construction inspector for draw approval
- Help coordinate foreclosures with foreclosing attorneys
- Prepare Payoff letters and statements for loans when they payoff.
Requirements: Excel (Microsoft Office Suite), MUST HAVE QuickBooks, high math aptitude, familiarity with typical office machines (phone, fax, copier, scanner), accounting background, familiarity with real estate, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work with stringent timelines. Paralegal or Real Estate experience is a plus.
