Prior Authorization Referral Coordinator: 4-Month Assignment (Seasonal) - Bend, OR

Position Overview:
We are collaborating with our client in the search for a Prior Authorization and Referral Coordinator to fill a seasonal, full-time, non-exempt position. This position is integral to our dedication to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. The Prior Authorization and Referral Coordinator will collaborate closely with our care team to assist patients and families with their referral and medical authorization requirements, following the guidance of the primary care provider (PCP).
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the PCP to facilitate timely referrals to specialists outlined by patients'' insurance plans.
- Track and communicate the status of referrals, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
- Maintain and update referral and authorization resource lists.
- Assist with medication authorizations between the provider, pharmacy, and patient.
- Support patients and families with education and follow-up regarding the Prior Authorization and referral processes.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Referral and authorization experience preferred.
- Exceptional phone and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of standard medical terminology.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Epic EMR experience preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Clear and audible speaking voice, ability to hear normal speech.
- Sitting or standing for long periods.
- Frequent repetitive motion, including computer keyboard use.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Working Conditions:
- General medical office setting with ergonomically configured equipment.
- Subject to hazards, including proximity to mechanical parts and chemicals.
- Travel between clinics and business offices as required.
