Job Description
- Medical Assistant will support the healthcare provider with direct patient care and under the direction of a provider, perform various aspects of patient care. This includes both clinical and administrative duties with compassionate concern and consideration of the patient's needs.
- Taking Patient vitals, setting up appropriate exam rooms, computer knowledge, excellent phlebotomy skills and HIPPA compliant.
- Assist the provider as needed with diagnostic and surgical procedures and exams specific to the patient's needs. These include, but are not limited to, Pap Smears, colposcopy, contraceptive insertions, EKG, biopsy surgeries, basic wound care, diagnostic hearing and vision testing.
- Restocking and cleaning exam rooms and instruments.
- Coordinate and process referrals for patients to specialists and other healthcare providers.
- Communicate with patients, healthcare professionals, and insurance companies to ensure timely and accurate referral processing.
- Obtain necessary medical records and documentation for referral appointments.
- Schedule appointments and follow up with patients to ensure they attend their referral appointments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date referral records in electronic medical records system.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Must be organized, excellent written and verbal communications skills with attention to details.
