Job Title:Principal Psychologist - Diagnostics Lead
Reports to: Chief Psychologist
Salary: £50,000
Location: Remote - Work Anywhere in the UK
Working Pattern: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Principal Psychologist at Lexxic

As Principal Psychologist at Lexxic, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to empower neurodivergent individuals and create inclusive environments that celebrate their unique strengths. With your expertise in psychology and neurodiversity, you will be client facing by delivering some of Lexxic’s key services.


You will be a key member in our Psychological Services Leadership Team (PLT) by collaborating with the Chief Psychologist in setting the future vision and executing the strategic plan to achieve business objectives, recognising the need to balance the four key metrics within our business:


  • Delivering an excellent client experience
  • Achievement of commercial goals
  • Delivery of operational excellence
  • Ensuring a high level of employee engagement

You will also work with the leadership team to develop innovative strategies, interventions, and programs that promote wellbeing and unleash the full potential of all our talent. You will also have line management responsibility, supporting your direct reports and their teams in their workloads, career progression and delivery of assessment services to a high standard.


What you’ll be doing:


Delivery and supervision of Lexxic’s services at the highest standards for clients (50%)

  • Delivering diagnostic assessments as and when required (circa 2 days per week) and producing the highest quality reports for clients.
  • Supervising colleagues delivering diagnostic assessments and signing off their reports.
  • Keep abreast of developments in diagnostic testing for neurodifferences and implement new tests to ensure colleagues are up to date.
  • Delivering other assessments services ad hoc to maintain clinical awareness.
  • Acting as a SME for the team by possessing and role modelling excellent understanding of all assessment methods, such as diagnostics, workplace needs assessments and screeners.

Being a significant people leader (25%)

  • Working with senior colleagues to ensure optimum levels of resource and capability across the department to meet client demand.
  • Proactively onboard new colleagues (where required for diagnostics) to build up our talent pipeline and ensure they are given access to the CPD opportunities Lexxic has on offer.
  • Motivate, inspire and lead the team of psychologists in your care, fostering an ongoing culture of empathy and personal responsibility.
  • Undertake reviews of your direct reports, to empower their own development and to contribute to Lexxic achieving our goals.
  • Ensure good practice in our HR processes in collaboration with your colleagues in the People and Culture team.

Supporting training and auditing to ensure highest quality standards and clinical excellence (25%)

  • Developing and supporting team members primarily to deliver diagnostic assessments, working in partnership with Lexxic's trusted associates. There may be the requirement to also support the delivery of screening assessments and workplace assessments (dependent on needs at the time) in relation to neurodiversity.
  • Ensuring Lexxic staff deliver the best work to the highest standards of excellence through quality checking and auditing.
  • Delivering technical training and upskilling the team on neurodiversity and any other services or topics that may be required.
  • When required, present at webinars, conferences, and other external events.

Must Have:

  • HCPC and RQTU Registration
  • BPS membership
  • Chartered Occupational Psychologist status with the HCPC (CPsychol)
  • Experience of delivering services to clients with complex needs including diagnostic assessments for specific learning differences.
  • A strong working knowledge of the neurodiversity space
  • Commercial acumen
  • Report writing expertise
  • The ability to lead with compassion
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to critically review and analyse information.
  • The ability to work autonomously and prioritise work effectively.
