Job Summary:
We are looking for a Principal Signal Processing Engineer to lead the Algorithm Performance Team on the Hypersonic Attack Cruise Missile (HACM) program. As the Algorithm Performance Team Lead, you will provide technical direction and leadership for developing and integrating signal processing algorithms and sensor models into the Integrated Flight Simulation (IFS). You will be involved in running the Integrated Flight Simulation (IFS) and analyzing performance predictions and results to determine if algorithms are meeting performance expectations. The Algorithm Performance Team Lead will be responsible for aligning the team to the vision of the product, maintaining, and aligning the backlog to stakeholder needs, day-to-day execution of the individuals on the team, and reporting status to the Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL).
This position is an onsite role based in Tucson, AZ.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- You will act with advanced to expert knowledge of signal processing to support budget, schedule, development, execution, and completion of difficult and often complex program objectives.
- You will use and modify simulations for the design, development, prototyping, integration, testing, and performance assessment of signal processing algorithms and models.
- You will participate in engineering lab and field test environments to test, verify, and validate sensor models and signal processing Algorithm Performance in accordance with requirements.
- You will apply signal processing knowledge to resolve numerous and often undefined problems and issues in design reviews, peer reviews, and technical briefings to parties within and outside own discipline.
- Selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain special access program clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with C++ and/or C.
- Experience with MATLAB and/or Python.
- Experience with signal processing algorithm development and analysis.
- Experience integrating signal processing algorithms in real-time, embedded software systems.
- Experience running, modifying, and/or evaluating simulations.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physics, or Math.
- Experience managing or leading others in a technical and/or functional capacity within an engineering environment.
- Experience with missile components and systems.
- Experience using UNIX/Linux-based workstations.
- Good communication, interaction, planning, and time management skills.
- Experience with implementing agile processes.
