Summary
The Pricing Analyst will play an integral role in helping manage and driving continuous improvement in the pricing process for Ranpak’s North American Sales Operations team. This person will work directly for our Strategic Pricing Manger and support the competitive pricing and proposal process. The Pricing Analyst will assist with new price/rebate analysis and quoting activities to ensure timely responses to our sales team. This role will be expected to have a high level of communication skills and work with many different departments within our company. The Pricing Analyst will also assist in various analytical exercises to support the Sales and Sales Operations team to ensure Ranpak is successful in our go-to-market strategy in North America.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
· Manage Ranpak’s North American customer strategic pricing process by analyzing rebates/special pricing requests, reviewing rebate accuracy/validity, working with key stakeholders (internal and external Sales Managers, Finance, Accounting, Product Management, etc.) to correct any discrepancies, securing leadership’s approval on go-forward pricing/rebates, and managing approved pricing in SAP
· Manage new pricing/rebate quote requests by collecting pertinent deal metrics, preparing financial analysis, communicating with internal and external stakeholders for deal approvals/adjustments, etc.
· Collaborate with field sales team (Territory Managers, Regional Sales Managers, Strategic Account Managers, etc.) on new and/or custom product and project quotes
· Collaborate with Product Management, Purchasing, and Operations teams to secure item specifications and cost data for new and/or custom product and project quotes
· Verify all information is complete and matches original approval when alerted from the Regional Sales Manager that an opportunity is won
· Communicate all pricing changes to internal departments and confirm that all related systems are appropriately updated
· Assist Customer Service department with any pricing discrepancies on sales orders
· Support Strategic Pricing Manager in maintaining accurate and active rebates in the rebate database and report any findings and/or recommendations
· Maintain and continue to enhance the pricing model, the pricing decision process, and the documentation used internally and externally to communicate pricing proposals and agreements
· Assist in developing key metrics for pricing and profitability reporting
· Prepare ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed
· Other job-related duties and special projects as needed
Education, Training, and Experience Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, or related field
· 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: pricing, sales/finance analyst, customer service, sales, or marketing
· Advanced experience with Excel and Microsoft Office products
· Experience with SAP and/or SugarCRM preferred
· Excellent mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills
· Organized and creative thinker with practical problem-solving skills and the ability to derive insights from sales report analysis and research
· Works well with cross-functional team members, including sales, procurement, marketing, accounting, etc.
· Serve as a point of contact for the sales organization for sales data questions and help problem solve situations using data-driven decision making
· Attention to detail while meeting deadlines
· Proven project and time management skills
· Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build cross-functional relationships internally and externally
· Ability to convey information and ideas with all levels of the organization
