Job description

Job Summary: The President/CEO serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Star of Hope and provides leadership, vision and executive direction to the organization. This position is responsible for the overall administration of the Star of Hope. The President/CEO reports to the Board of Trustees, and is responsible for the organization's consistent achievement of its mission, strategy and financial objectives to ensure excellence and integrity.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Leadership, Vision and Strategic Planning: Have a clear mission statement, vision and strategic plan in place; facilitate organizational planning and a long range strategy to achieve the organization's mission and ensure future sustainability.
2. Board Facilitation: See that the board is fully informed on the condition of the organization and all important factors influencing it. With the Chairman of the Board, develop agendas for meetings, so that the Board can fulfill all its responsibilities effectively. Develop an annual calendar to cover all crucial issues in a timely manner. Assist the board in identifying and cultivating potential members. Work with the Chairman to make the committee structure of the Board function effectively.
3. Financial Oversight: Develop and maintain sound financial practices. Responsible for the implementation of the organization's financial plan and for ensuring adequate resources for the implementation of the strategic plan. See that the organization operates within budget guidelines. Participate with the Board of Trustees and the VP of Development in fundraising activities.
4. Quality Program Development: Ensure the continuation and development of effective programs and facilities that will provide for the achievement of the mission and goals of the organization. Formulate and administer all major policies. Ensure all programs contracts are monitored, including goals and objectives, fiscal compliance, and program reports.
5. Staff Management: Develop and refine concrete realistic and operation program plans. Lead the agency staff in establishing a culture of excellence and integrity. See that an effective management team, with appropriate provision for succession, is in place. Ensure the development and implementation of personnel training and development plans.
6. Community: Develop relationships and a presence in the community to effectively support the mission.

Qualifications:
Education: College Degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
Skills & Experience: Demonstrate record of effective leadership. Professional level experience in development, budgeting, administration, teambuilding and supervision of staff. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with churches, businesses and funding Organizations. Extensive communication requirements. Public Speaking required. Ability to work with program and facilities staff as well as board members, donors and the general public. Strong commitment to spiritual values and growth that support the ministry of Star of Hope.
Equipment Used: Standard office equipment: Basic computer skills, phones, fax, printers and copiers. Valid Texas Driver's License with acceptable driving record and current liability insurance.
