St. Catherine of Siena School is seeking a full-time Spanish teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The position involves teaching Preschool through 8th grade students. Other Qualifications Include:
- Fluent in speaking Spanish; Able to effectively communicate orally and in writing to students via both English and Spanish
- A Bachelor's degree or greater; current Washington state teaching certification required
- Successful prior experience teaching Spanish in an elementary classroom setting
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction for a wide range of student abilities and needs
- Proficient technology skills, including use of Google classroom and applications, interactive projectors or whiteboards, and general instructional technology
Major Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Provides Spanish instruction to students in Preschool through 8th grade
- Plans lessons and units that engage student learners through a variety of instructional methods and reflects best practices
- Uses formative and summative assessment data to inform instruction and monitor students' progress
- Ensures curriculum, materials, and instructional practices are aligned with World Language Standards and Common Core State Standards
- Regularly integrates technology in lessons to support student learning
- Provides regular feedback to parents regarding student progress
- Assures the creation and maintenance of a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and encourages students to think critically
- Collaborates with fellow teachers and staff in the implementation of instructional programs and activities that promotes the Catholic identity and goals of the school
- Regularly pursues professional development opportunities and maintains a growth mindset
Salary: $67,495 - $113,193. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills, and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
