Randall Prefabrication is seeking a top-tier General Shop Foreman to lead our prefabrication efforts in our Apopka, FL shop/headquarters. We are excited about this important role and are determined to consider the best and brightest candidates who meet our requirements.
Position Summary
With Randall's multiple in-house skilled trade divisions (Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Protection), our Prefabrication General Shop Foreman will be knowledgeable across many diverse commercial construction methodologies. You will use knowledge and experience in the trades along with management skills to lead, coordinate, train and direct internal craftspeople and external suppliers / vendors to provide professionally completed, high quality products within the constraints of time and budget. This will require hands-on shop work when the workload permits.
Essential Functions
- Work with the Prefabrication Director to plan and track schedules and budgets.
- Supervise trade specific journeymen and apprentices (in skills such as welding, pipe welding, grooving systems, sheet metal fabrication, etc.)
- Lead and train crews in planning, layout, material management, reading and interpreting technical project information, and in their specific craft.
- Interface with divisional leaders and staff on a constant basis in a highly professional manner.
- Confirm take-offs, orders, and scheduled deliveries of materials.
- Pre-plan job requirements with the Prefabrication Director and Divisional Stake Holders.
- Coordinate material storage, staging, delivery and security with the Logistics / Warehouse Manager.
- Provide and schedule delivery of tools necessary to perform work including rentals of specialty tools, unloading equipment, scaffolding, manlifts, etc.
- Manage shop safety program, evaluating shop and workers for safe work practices, anticipate problems, coordinate weekly safety meetings, submit safety reports and audits. preview each work assignment for safety problems.
- Read and understand blueprints, CAD drawings, isometrics, equipment specifications, job specifications, equipment submittals, schedules and other construction and equipment related information.
- Continually collaborate with BIM/CAD department until final coordination drawings are complete.
- Must be able to visualize, anticipate and organize the construction sequence and flow using design information and experience.
- Establish and enforce personnel rules and expectations.
- Responsible for assuring that project is kept within budget and on time.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and organized work site.
- Participate in hands-on completion of piping, electrical, and sheet metal assignments whenever schedule permits.
- Develop final turnover package for field installation staff. Keep and maintain updated as-builts.

Desired Qualification Requirements
- High school and/or Trade school graduate.
- A minimum of 5 years shop and/or field experience.
- Proven abilities in pipefitting, plumbing, electrical and/or sheet metal required.
- Moderate computer skills and software knowledge.
- Working knowledge of codes and industry standards.
- Must be approved to drive per Randall's driving standards.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills and experience required.
