Plant Manager will direct, manage, and optimize the overall performance of the Creative Foam facility. This candidate will build policies and processes and make decisions guiding productivity, quality, and cost efficiency of plant operations. This working manager establishes systems to collect metrics, analyze productivity, and set performance targets that are in line with company goals. Will lead the development and deployment of manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement, while ensuring robust plant safety and security procedures that follow all required regulations.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:
- Oversees activities aimed at increasing productivity and reducing costs.
- Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Confers with planning and design staff concerning the product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Confers with customers and vendors to determine product specifications and evaluates products accordingly to specifications and quality standards.
- Estimates production times staffing requirements and related costs.
- Confers with other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Analyze blueprints, inquiries, specification, proposals, and documentation to prepare material and labor estimates for products, projects, or services, applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles, or processes.
- Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and operations plan.
- Analyzes the department budget requests and allocates an operating budget.
- Develops and implements capital investment plans.
- Lead, manage, and hold accountable department activities to achieve KPI’s.
- Foster a productive and safe work environment.
- Ability to recruit, develop, train, recognize and retain talented members
- Profitability owner for organizational production process
- Responsible for regulatory compliance i.e., OSHA, EPA, etc.
- Develop and maintain safety initiatives, proper PPE usage, and good housekeeping practices.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized and attention to detail.
- Articulate, very comfortable presenting and leading calls with management.
- Vast knowledge of Lean & Continuous Improvement processes.
- Communicates effectively of all directives, policies, or procedures to managers.
- Conduct meetings with entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale of the staff.
- Has full authority for personnel decisions and may have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change.
- Projects a positive image of the organization to internal employees, external customers, and the community.
Required Education/Skills/Abilities:
- 10+ years Operations experience desired
- 10+ years leadership desired
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or equivalent preferred
- Knowledge of foam, fabrication, and the medical device field preferred
