About the role
The Plant Controller will lead and support the Operations Finance function for 2 sites, Lake Zurich, IL and Owatonna, MN, in addition to assisting with reporting and identifying of cost savings opportunities. This includes providing accurate financial and statistical data in order for Management to make timely and informed decisions concerning financial performance of the business. The position has dual reporting between the plant manager and the finance function.
Where you'll work
This role will be based in our Lake Zurich, IL site with a 20 to 25 percent traveling to our Owatonna, MN plant which both are part of our Dry Beverage Division specialized in dry blending and functional drink beverages which includes, hydration, energy, immunity drinks as well as different cocoa blends, and agglomeration and/or coating of nutraceuticals and functional food ingredients respectively.

- Proper control and valuation of inventory.
- Review Plant expenses monthly and be proactive in cost control.
- Complete monthly reporting pack for plant (including KPIs)
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly statistics
- Manufacturing order cost vs budget / target
- Manufacturing order efficiency vs budget / target
- Direct allocated cost analysis vs budget / target
- Indirect cost analysis vs budget / target
- Inventory management vs budget / target
- Kerry Excel and KPI reporting (including operational efficiencies)
- Capital projects performance reporting
- Supply Chain / distribution efficiency measurement
- Budgeting/ Forecasting / Planning
- Kerry Best Practice Implementation
- Least cost formulation evaluation
- Joint and by-product costing
- Engagement with plant personnel including daily plant walks.
What you'll need to be successful
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting required.
- CPA, CMA or equivalent is desired but not required.
- Expert knowledge of Excel, ERP and Accounting Systems and experience with Performance based measurement.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail, good communication, organization, prioritization and time management skills while handling multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Prior experience with long term strategic planning, investing analysis, acquisition, capital, cost management, capital reporting, budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, financial reporting, managing fixed assets, closing the books, processing accounts receivable and accounts payable, budgeting, intercompany allocations, year-end audit and technical accounting are all highly desired
- Experience in commercial or manufacturing (food, chemical or pharmaceutical industry) beneficial, but not required.
