Role Overview

The **Plant Controller **is a crucial financial leader and strategic business partner at our manufacturing facility, responsible for all financial matters within the plant. This role entails comprehensive financial management, including the maintenance of a strong financial control environment, ensuring the accuracy of financial and management reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to the plant's management team. Integral to the role is the development and execution of strategic financial plans, forecasting, budgeting, driving cost efficiency and productivity, and implementing process improvements. In our challenging business environment, the Plant Controller plays a key role in driving successful financial performance, operational excellence, and overseeing all aspects of financial management at the plant level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of financial control and management at the plant, including cost accounting, general ledger, inventory control, accounts payable, and capital spending.
  • Collaborate with plant management to develop and execute strategic financial plans, including forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to improve financial processes, implement new procedures, and enhance cost efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal controls and external regulations.
  • Monitor and manage financial risk, including credit, liquidity, and operational risk.
  • Work closely with other departments such as Supply Chain, HR, and Operations to ensure integrated business planning.
  • Oversee the process of product costing, ensuring accurate product cost estimates and identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Provide financial training to plant personnel to improve financial literacy and understanding of budgetary impacts.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop the plant finance team to foster a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and excellence.
Critical Competencies for Success
  • An MBA or a professional certification such as CMA, CPA, or CFA is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in financial management is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and cost management.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading through change, including the ability to assess organizational needs and implement effective new procedures swiftly in challenging business environments.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with a proven track record of effectively managing relationships with diverse stakeholders, including employees, suppliers, customers, and company executives.
  • Strong proficiency in financial software systems, MS Excel, and other relevant IT tools.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory compliance related to financial and accounting practices.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in team development and mentorship.
  • High ethical standards and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive approach, ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
