JOB SUMMARY:
REV Renewables is seeking a highly motivated and experienced PJM Policy Manager to join our team. This position will report to the Vice President of Government Affairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ISO/RTO markets, ideally in the PJM market, and will be able to develop and execute strategies to advance REV Renewables' interests. The PJM Policy Manager will be responsible for representing REV Renewables in day-to-day regulatory proceedings as well as pro-actively leading industry campaigns to advance renewable energy and energy storage. The role will primarily focus on PJM, with opportunities to work in NYISO, ISO-NE and, to a lesser extent, other regional transmission organizations (RTOs). REV is open to considering this role as a director-level position, commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Represent REV Renewables on all regulatory matters and market interests in PJM.
- Attend, actively participate in, and report back on stakeholder and committee meetings. Pro-actively identify key issues of interest to REV and work with internal teams to develop policy positions.
- Navigate highly detailed regulatory proceedings to defend company interests and identify opportunities to enhance market position.
- Thoroughly understand market rules and tariffs.
- Strategically lead regulatory advocacy campaigns to shape outcomes that benefit the renewable energy and storage industry.
- Understand and apply business principles and policy in dynamic, challenging and high-stakes situations.
- Understand and research government and industry perspectives in order to inform policy creation and policy adjustments.
- Facilitate regular team meetings effectively; communicate clearly with colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Provide support on ad hoc regulatory assignments.
- Ability to travel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform the job successfully, the individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Track record of working in ISO/RTO markets, ideally with PJM; familiarity with ISO-NE, NYISO, FERC and other markets
- Experience working in government, public affairs, or regulatory policy, preferably within the renewable energy industry.
- Has a solid understanding of federal, regional and/or state energy regulatory policy.
- Is able to effectively communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to have discretion and maintain confidential information.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Public Policy, Economics or Political Science OR Master’s Degree in Business, Public Policy, Economics or Engineering.
- Minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in Business, Public Policy, Economics or Engineering
- Minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in energy industry regulatory affairs
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
