The County of San Diego, Health and Human Services Agency is currently accepting applications for
PHARMACY STOCK CLERK

Interviews and job offers will take place beginning the week of March 18, 2024.


Future Salary Increases

**July 2024 - 6.48% increase to base pay (2.75% Across-the-Board + 3.73% Market Increase)


This position is eligible for appointment at step 1, $40,560.00 annually.

County employees are subject to the County Promotion Rule for step placement in accordance with Comp Ord 1.3.5.


Pharmacy Stock Clerks are state certified to receive, store, and distribute pharmaceutical and biological items, medical devices, and supplies in a licensed wholesale drug storeroom. Incumbents receive incoming pharmaceutical and medical supplies from vendors and check item specification and quantity for accuracy and completeness, and perform other duties as assigned.

HIRING TIMELINE AND DATES


The timeline for this recruitment is outlined below.

  • Job Offer and Background Process begins week of March 18, 2024. Note: Current County employees may be excluded from additional background screening.
  • Pre-employment Medical Screening: Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.
  • Anticipated Start Date: Start date will be based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. An Exemption Certificate issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy at the time of appointment; AND,
2. At least six (6) months of experience receiving, storing, distributing, and inventorying pharmaceutical and biological items, medical supplies, and other supplies in a pharmacy or wholesale drug facility.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

As part of the County of San Diego’s pre-employment process, prospective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment. Additional types of background investigations may be conducted based on the job-related activities of the position. Note: Current County employees may be excluded from this process.

EVALUATION

Qualified applicants will be placed on a six (6) month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained in the supplemental questionnaire.
