Purpose:
Work with pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacists and other staff to execute all day-to-day requirements of running the pharmacy, including compliance. Liaison between Admin Team and Pharmacy operations/staff.
Reporting to this person:
Directly supervises employees in the Pharmacy and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; keeping team on task and assisting as needed; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

· Computer Skills – Experience with IPS, Suite RX, Excel and Microsoft Suite is preferred.
Essential Functions:
· Maintains records of all transactions of the pharmacy necessary to ensure accurate control over and accountability for all drugs as required by applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations; ensures legal operation of the pharmacy, including meeting all inspection and other requirements of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing pharmacy operations.
· Type and fills prescriptions for pharmaceutical preparations and devices for patients; maintains accurate and detailed records of all prescription transactions, and submits appropriate claims for third-party reimbursement; consults with physicians and nurses regarding pharmaceutical questions;
Essential Functions (cont.) :
· Provide functional supervision to professional, paraprofessional, and support staff in their respective pharmacy, including training, assigning duties, conducting performance evaluations, and carrying out coaching, re-training, and corrective action as needed.
· Documents and reports medication errors including an action plan to avoid similar mistakes in the future.
· Compound medications for external and internal use (sterile and non-sterile) following proper procedures.
· Proper management of patient records and pharmacy files
· Maintain appropriate inventory on pharmaceutical and medical supplies
· Work in conjunction with physicians, nurses, other pharmacists, pharmacy interns, other staff, etc.

Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours.
· Must be able to lift and push or pull up to 50lbs.
· Pick and pinch small tablets with fingers, and seize, hold, grasp or turn objects with hands.
· Perceive the size, shape, temperature, or texture of objects by touching with fingertips.
· See objects at close vision and be able to identify and distinguish colors.

Other skills and abilities include:
· Have typing skills of at least 30 wpm.
· Pass a drug test.

Hours:
Full-time employees work approximately 40 hours per week. Pharmacy hours are 8:30am-8pm. It is expected that all staff stay until all tasks for the shift/day/week are complete and be working at all times while on the clock/floor. On-call or afterhours work or assistance may be required. Must be available to answer your phone and help on-call staff with questions or emergencies as needed.
