Job description

The Revenue and Billing Operations Manager will play a major role in our Order to Cash process overseeing all day-to-day activities the customer billing lifecycle ensuring operational excellence in accuracy of customer invoicing, cash receipts and providing excellent customer service to our customers. This includes the sending of invoices for monthly close, coordinating and completing work during the month in preparation of close, client questions and escalations, billing adjustments, and development of the team as a whole.
In addition, the Revenue and Billing Operations Manager will lead our monthly revenue reporting to the Finance and Accounting department and other internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be expected to exhibit high degree of being detail oriented, be self-motivated, results driven, and ability and focus to research root causes as problems arise.
This role is an integral part of the Finance and Accounting Team, and also collaborates with nearly all areas of the business in a fast-paced environment, bringing enthusiasm to the office, all while being a hands-on contributor with consistent performance and sense of urgency and commitment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to optimize Revenue and Billing Operations
  • Oversee the monthly close process for the invoicing and collections team and facilitate timely resolution and triaging of information to deliver accurate revenue reporting
  • Manage, coach, and mentor a team of six that is responsible for these invoicing and collections processes
  • Coordinate with Corporate Pricing, Legal, Sales, and Operations to facilitate accurate, timely, and complete resolutions on outstanding matters impacting invoicing
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives and implement scalable solutions to improve collection processes and Billing accuracy
  • Assist with continuous process improvement and development of automated systems including implementation and enhancements to Billing and Collection tools
  • Continue to develop and implement policies and procedures to scale with the business
  • Analyze AR data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in collections processes
  • Review of contracts to identify billing nuances and setup requirements
  • Lead the preparation and review of revenue reporting with internal stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Billing Operations, revenue collection, and customer billing
Requirements
  • 5 + years experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring teams, fostering a collaborative environment, and guiding staff to achieve operational excellence
  • Ability to independently resolve complex problems where analysis requires in-depth evaluation of several factors
  • Excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must be able to prioritize, problem solve, and take initiative
  • Ability to learn and understand systems, integrations, and data integrity
  • Proven history of being able to deal with large and complex data sets taken from several systems
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and lead complex initiatives
