People Support: Human Resources Generalist
Drivergent Transportation is a Metro Detroit school transportation company looking for motivated, customer-focused individuals who want to join our team in transporting students.
As a Human Resources Generalist for Drivergent Transportation, you will work with our management team to help shape and drive our continued growth strategy, employee relations, and meet customer service expectations.
The Human Resources Generalist assists with all departmental/Human Resource and related functions. Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of appropriate documentation throughout employment history for all employees. Advises and consults management on employee and Human Resources issues in all aspects involved in Human Resource Management activities.

General Responsibilities
- Assist in the administration of policies and procedures in the area of Human Resources including: Benefits, Safety and Health, Employee Work Rules and Regulations, Employee Orientation, and Training.
- Maintain confidentiality in all areas of Human Resources.
- Assists in coordination of Company functions, employee relations’ activities and training registration.
- Responsible for recruiting qualified candidates for open positions and related tasks including conducting new employee orientations and exit interviews, creating postings, conducting interviews, perform reference checks, prepare offer letters etc.
- Create employee communications including presentations for Employee Meetings.
- Issue employee disciplines when necessary.
- Process benefit related tasks.
- Provide guidance to employees when appropriate and assist and advise Supervisors\Managers on employee issues.
- Maintain current knowledge of all related employment legislations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new programs and other HR functions/ Action Plans
- Assists managers/supervisors in dealing with employee issues including investigations and providing advice in managing the progressive disciplinary procedures.
- Coordinate and administer employee training and development. Maintain tracking of training. Develop and present training programs/material.
- Prepare employee notices, letters, memorandums, and other documents as required.
- Initiate and embrace company change.
- Responsible for promoting and seeking excellence in all aspects of business.
Job Requirements
- 2+ years of Human Resources experience or advanced degree with at least one year of generalist experience and on-boarding new hire employees required.
- Excellent customer service skills are required. Must possess superb problem solving and multi-tasking skills with effective communicate skills, both verbal and in writing.
- Must be able to work in a very fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Excellent computer skills required. Must be proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook applications.
- Takes accountability and ownership of his/her own work
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, deadline driven, adjust to shifting priorities, complete deliverables on-time, marketing strategy and brand guideline
- Ability to work independently or with a team, manage ambiguity and ask for guidance when needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary Degree preferred
- Holds high ethical standards at all times
- Proven track record of reliability
- Self-motivated and able to work in a self-directed environment with an upbeat attitude
- Bi-lingual abilities a plus
