Job Description
We are in search of an electrical engineer to help support the designing a PCB that will function as a motor controller board for a medical device company. We already have the motor (stepper) and a potential chip that can handle the needed motion commands.
The work will roughly be:
- Component selection (potentially selecting a different chip for motion control if the person has prior experience).
- Layout (we want this to be as small as possible)
- Cost analysis
- Noise analysis
- Heat (this is not really a concern. The board will be powered by 12V at 1W and it is driving a stepper motor)
- An initial batch of 2-5 boards (these can be done by sending the Gerber files to a house)
- Emission and immunity testing (this is not done by this person, but the results will then inform a second round of design)
- Second round of design as needed based on the step above
The ideal profile would be an "EE engineer that has designed PCBs for motion control applications"
The job will take the equivalent of 3 full months, but it can be done part time and spread out longer.
