The Department of Visual and Performing Arts is seeking an innovative and experienced educator to join our team. The faculty member will support a robust and growing visual arts program, by teaching courses in both graphic design and photography, to an energetic and diverse student body. Our faculty work closely with students inside and outside of the classroom to help them maximize their success. Visual and Performing Arts faculty participate in regional, state, and national professional activities, including exhibitions, publications, and conferences, and are also active in collaborations with other disciplines and departments at the college.

Specific Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe successful faculty member will teach fifteen credit-hours per semester / thirty credit- hours per academic year of day or evening classes in the areas of graphic design and photography. Flexibility is required to work in this position as teaching assignments may vary from semester to semester. There may be an opportunity to teach classes in the summer also. Faculty may be assigned to teach on any campus or center where CSM offers classes. The faculty member hired in this position is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities to promote student-centered learning and success.
At a minimum, the related activities include instruction, holding office hours, serving on various committees, and demonstrating a commitment to professional development thorough participating in local, state, regional, and national professional activities, and organizations.
