JOB TITLE:Payroll Specialist
POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Full-time; benefits included; 40k base salary
REPORTS TO: Director of Finance
GENERAL FUNCTIONS: Under limited supervision from the Director of Finance, Manage functions related to Payroll, and iSolved.
KEY ROLES (Job Duties and Responsibilities):
· Manage the payroll process for select communities and pay groups to include:
· Verify and enter time adjustments.
· Maintain mandatory deductions files, enter in payroll system, and communicate with court orders as requested.
· Add new employees to and terminate employees from the payroll system.
· Maintain payroll system to ensure employees are coded correctly for the general ledger.
· Add rate changes to the payroll system and calculate and enter split rates as necessary.
· Process payroll according to the schedule
· Download the Payroll journal entry and check the register and enter it into the accounting system.
· Maintain an electronic file of payroll reports and backup for payroll on the server.
· General Staff use training as needed/Troubleshooting.
· Maintain Leave accruals and ensure that any accrued hours not approved to rollover are cleared at the end of the FY year.
· Communicate as needed with AP regarding insurance bills and employment status of enrollees.
Manage Be Great University records and enrollments to include:
· Register participants in classes as prescribed by the program.
· Maintain tracking of classes registered and completed by employees.
· Coordinate with Human Resources regarding rate increases.
· Provide updates to employee participants and Human Resource Department
· Other Duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or three years or more experience in payroll.
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Strong organizational and analytical skills.
· Knowledge of computer software applications with emphasis on accounting software

· Ability to analyze and solve problems in a constantly changing and high-pressured work environment.
· Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office products.
· Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and formulas.
· The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
