We are currently seeking a Lead Payroll Specialist for the Corporate Hospitality Support Center located in Greenville, SC. This position is available for_ Hybrid. _

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION:

This position will work with both payroll and accounting functions. This classification exists to handle a variety of payroll duties for the Corporate Payroll Department associated with the field and corporate operations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide guidance to internal and external professionals as well as employees relating to payroll.
• Process and balance field payroll runs.
• Process HR maintenance.
• Maintain check-off sheets of all payrolls.
• Perform accruals as needed.
• Processes the Company Payroll in rotation
• Communicate with field personnel on payroll resolution.
• Reconcile G/L accounts each period and makes journal entries.
• Undertakes other appropriate projects as assigned.
• Back-up for other Payroll Specialists in the department.

Requirements:

• Proficient with the HR/PR module on an ERP.
• Successful integration of all aspects of Payroll from the payroll processing, GL entries, reconciliation and technical background.
• Ability to perform in a fast paced environment and prioritize own workload based upon such factors as needed for immediate action, work objectives and schedules.
• Attention to detail, problem solving and proactive trouble shooting.
• Professional written and verbal communication with employees, field personnel, General Managers, and third parties.
• Exercise independent initiative and judgment.
• Learn job-related material and tasks primarily through oral instruction.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

Required:

• Minimum of six (6) months full-time payroll experience which demonstrates possession of required knowledge and abilities.
• Experience with multi-state payroll taxes, Federal 940 and 941's & UI.
• Experience with Garnishments.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience with time keeping functions.

Preferred:

• 1 year interactive HR experience.
• Lawson/Apollo Software experience is a plus.
• Associate's degree in accounting or business.

OTHER DETAILS:

• Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
