POSITION SUMMARY
A Payroll and Benefits Specialist's role is to oversee and manage a company's compensation procedures, ensuring accuracy, timeliness andadministration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Administering all accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Processing leaves of absence and paid-time-off paperwork
- Conducting employee-benefit online meetings to inform employees of the emerging benefits and make adjustments to the existing ones
- Cooperate with the compliance team to ensure administrative compliance with regulatory requirements
- Process and issue W-2 Forms to employees
- Handling monthly payroll reconciliation
- Audit benefit enrollment reports for accuracy
- Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
- Processing of bi-weekly payroll, to include maintaining employee information (deductions, taxes, garnishments, direct deposits, and support orders), reviewing earnings, processing payroll/financial reports.
- Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
- Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
- Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes.
- Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
- Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
- Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
- Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.
- Assists with the open enrollment process.
- Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance or other related field and 3+ years of relevant work experience in the payroll processing and Benefits department or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now needed
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge of state and federal Payroll and tax rules and regulations required
- Experience with global payroll regulations preferred
- Benefits reconciliation
- Maintain a high level of security and confidentiality of sensitive information and strong work ethics.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to focus on computer screens for extensive periods of time.
· The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach.
· The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- In office position with normal office environment

· Minimal travel may be required on occasion.
