Payroll Specialist
The Payroll Specialist will respond to frequent and urgent requests for information about payroll, tax, PTO, andreport generation, in the day-to-day completion of all payroll functions including the timely and accurate preparing of a multi-state, bi-weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees for a fast and growing company.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of related experience with ADP Payroll, Time & Attendance systems
- Demonstrated working knowledge of US Federal, State and Local Payroll laws and regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook – QuickBooks a plus
- Highly detail oriented and able to multi-task
- Strong organizational skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Maintain employee and payroll related confidentiality
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administration of time and attendance system, ability to create reports, preparation, and calculation of exception items such as bonuses, garnishments, terminations, and tax adjustments
- Ability to remain current on all compliance and updates for all employee and employer tax withholding and reporting
- Tracking of hourly piece pay employees on reporting time
- Manage, maintain, and update employee payroll data within ADP payroll system supported by ADP Data Bridge
- Assist in preparing, reviewing, and processing multi-state payroll on a bi-weekly basis
- Maintain ADP Validation Tables, GL Data and Cost Centers
- Process and reconcile employee deductions, reimbursements, garnishments, benefit elections, 401K, etc.
- Submit contribution files to 401K vendors
- Research, setup, update ADP deduction codes
- Run and create ADP ad hoc reports as needed
- Assist employees with payroll related questions and issues in a timely and confidential manner
- Responsible for tracking, communicating, and collecting employee receivable payments
- Monitor tax setups, compliance filling and reporting requirements
- Process and analyze wage and tax issues, contact federal state and local taxing authorities as required
- Ability to review current process and participate in the development of new payroll processes and procedures
