Job Description
LHH is hiring for an experienced Payroll Specialist ready to work with our client near St. Louis, MO.
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing the payroll process. This role requires precision, professionalism, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll administration and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
Process payroll for employees in the organization, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
Maintain payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data.
Adhere to payroll policies and procedures and comply with relevant law.
Stay updated on payroll tax changes and complex employment laws concerning payroll operations.
Handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system, setup each employee, validate program configurations to ensure accurate payroll data.
Provide reports for upper management, finance department and others as required.
Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors.
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of payroll software (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Deep understanding of the whole payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
Excellent attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to confidentially handle sensitive information.
Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field preferred.
Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist
Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.
Pay Details: $20.00 to $24.00 per hour
