Cayuga Medical Associates is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Ithaca, NY.

We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, and organized Accounting Assistant to provide exceptional support to our Accounting office.

What's the role?

• Maintain the data within HR, Time & Attendance, and Payroll Systems within a paperless environment utilizing the iSolved platform in conjunction with NetSuite Accounting platform.
• Review and audit employee records, including tax withholdings, child support, income executions, and other wage garnishments in compliance with all Federal and State laws.
• Contribute in the weekly review, audit, and payroll process, utilizing the iSolved platform.
• Ability to independently process, audit, and review payroll information to check for erroneous entries prior to acceptance.
• Develop and run necessary queries for reporting purposes to various groups.
• Processing of invoices and corresponding journal entries.
• Preparing journal entries, financial reports, bank reconciliations, and/or conducting/analyzing audits.
• Maintain records of financial documents and other required information with appropriate supporting material.
• Work closely with both internal and external auditors for various audit requests.
• File all necessary reports and documents in compliance with company record retention policies.
• Demonstrate high level of commitment to teamwork and support cross-functional team involvement.
• Ability to deal sensitively with confidential data and maintain professionalism.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Related work as assigned or required.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Microsoft Office products
• NetSuite and/or similar payroll/accounting software
• Capable of generating clear and organized reports in a timely fashion.
• Understanding of the monthly closing process.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• High degree of professionalism and confidentiality required
• An Associates' Degree in accounting/business -related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• At least three years of employment and payroll experience
