TITLE: Payroll Specialist
REPORTS TO: Payroll and Benefits Manager
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
Payroll Processor Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Payroll and Benefits Manager, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the payroll process in addition to assisting with our company-sponsored benefits programs. This role will be responsible for processing the organization’s hourly functions for all restaurant concept employees in multiple states, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, in compliance with government regulations as well as taking specific ownership of administrative tasks in areas relating to: personnel
records, benefits, employments, compensation, and reporting with an unwavering commitment
to quality and with a very strong demand for excellence.
Payroll Specialist Essential Job Functions (Key Tasks and Responsibilities):
- Process payroll for all hourly team members
- Process garnishments and income withholding orders
- Complete employment verifications
- Process and manage unemployment claims
- Assist payroll and benefits manager with all company sponsored benefit programs
Payroll Specialist Required Skills/Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Resources or Accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in Human Resources/Benefits and Payroll,
- A minimum of 1-3 years of payroll experience.
- Experience with one or more HR Payroll systems, including system implementations and upgrades, ·
- Comprehensive working knowledge of Payroll Functions, including Payroll Administration/Taxes, Policies/Procedures, Payroll System Management and Legal Compliance including Federal/State Wage & Hour Laws, FMLA/Paid Family Leave, Health Care Reform Act, ERISA, Unemployment and Tax Laws
Payroll Specialist Preferred Skills/Certifications
- Multi-state payroll, including federal and state payroll knowledge,
Payroll Specialist Work Authorization Requirements
Authorized to work in the United States of America.
