Job Description
As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for making sure employees are paid accurately and on time. Payroll is completed weekly across multiple locations, averaging 400 employees paid. You will manage payroll functions such as collecting timecards, entering payroll, auditing payroll calculations, and maintaining payroll records. Specific tasks may include:
- Communicate with managers of each location to ensure all time is accurate and ready to be entered into the payroll system.
- Ensure pay rates stay accurate in the payroll and POS software.
- Record completed weekly payroll into QuickBooks and work with accounting to identify any reconciliations.
- Create an import file in Excel to upload into the payroll software.
- Complete manual edits and additions in the payroll software, ADP.
- Audit the payroll batch prior to approving, ensuring all calculations are accurate.
- Complete tip calculations and disbursements.
- Assist with reporting projects related to the company’s payroll metrics.
- Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail.
- 2-3 years of experience completing payroll.
- High School Diploma
- High level of confidentiality
- Ability to work in Excel and payroll software.
- An understanding of basic accounting principles and payroll best practices.
- Work a 24-hour work week, specifically an 8-hour day on Tuesday and Wednesday.
- The ability to comfortably communicate, read, and comprehend instruction and policies as well as understand brand standards.
