Payroll Manager

Job Summary:
The Payroll Manager will be responsible for overseeing the organizations payroll functions (full life cycle) to ensure the timely and accurate processing for multiple business units. The incumbent will plan, direct, and coordinate all payroll functions in the payroll department. This role will supervise direct reports.
Essential Job Accountabilities:
Ensures payroll procedures are compliant, efficient, and current.
Accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, promotions, and changes to pay rates.
Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
Ensures compliance applicable laws and payroll tax obligations.
Leads and facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
Develops, implements, maintains, and reviews payroll transactions to ensure timely and accurate processing.
Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
Prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports.
Processes Certified Payroll Reports.
Sets up taxes for all states.
Sets up job wages for all jobs.
Supervise and coach payroll team.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred.
5+ years in-depth payroll knowledge and experience in a similar role.
5+ years of proven leadership experience leading direct reports.
Extensive knowledge of payroll processing including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
Experience with payroll taxes, certified payroll reports, municipality reporting, and prevailing wages.
Proficient with payroll management ADP software system.
Able to communicate with upper-level management and manage direct reports communication skills; Must be organized, efficient, detailed and computer literate.
Strong integrity and confidentiality.
Solid financial acumen with strong accounting principles and practices.
Drives change.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience with prevailing wages.
Strong analytical and methodical problem-solving skills.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint).
