The Payroll Compliance Supervisor will review payroll processing system to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, equity compensation, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
This individual contributor role will work with our payroll team to identify gaps and issues that prohibit compliant business processes, driving solutions and providing remedies for process deficiencies to improve operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with SOX and all applicable legislative requirements.
Maintains strong internal and external relationships by addressing questions and escalations with accuracy, a sense of urgency, and professionalism. Demonstrates strong independent problem-solving skills.
- Overall maintenance and development of procedures and policies related to payroll department with understanding of their correlation to other cross-department impacts.
- Assume responsibility for all areas of Payroll Compliance and elevate appropriate issues to leader as appropriate.
- Assure all associated Federal, State and Local payroll liabilities and associated regulatory tax filings are completed via Smart Compliance.
- Actively participate with the management team in cross-functional business improvement initiatives.
- Provide leadership in developing comprehensive internal controls around our payroll process, a payroll auditing plan, key controls testing and reporting designed to drive overall compliance, process improvement initiatives and business value. Work with the payroll team to implement recommended improvements and monitor ongoing adherence.
- Advise teams on internal control considerations during system implementations and rollout of new processes.
- Coordinates with key business partners to review and monitor cross-departmental process impact.
- Manages and reports on key performance indicators and metrics.
- Manages 3rd party file loads to the payroll system during each processing cycle.
- Lead payroll and benefit audits.
- Ensure accurate reporting for equity programs including Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) releases, Employee Share Purchase Plans (ESPP), and any other equity award related transactions on a regular basis.
- Payroll M&A setups

- Responsible for creation and distribution of ad hoc report requests to company business groups.

Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum five years of experience in payroll environment with at least 5 years of experience in Payroll Compliance.
- Proven experience in Payroll Tax and Compliance
- Familiarity with payroll processing
- SAP experience preferred
- Working knowledge of payroll system ADP Workforce Now
- Excellent conceptual, analytical, and project management skills.
- Experience collecting and synthesizing data and information from disparate sources.
- Excellent organization ability and strong communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Experience in stock administration/processing in a global company.
- Sound judgment and discretion; able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

Salary and Benefits
Salary Range for this position: $70,200.00 - $167,000.00
The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside in California and most states. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
