Payroll and Accounting Specialist Job Description
The Payroll and Accounting Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounting transactions, employee payroll, and creating and presenting excel reports/spreadsheets to internal executives of RBS. We are looking for a Payroll and Accounting Specialist that is ready to take their responsibility to the next level. Responsibilities would be in managing and executing payroll, taxes, accounting transactions for small to mid-size businesses and manage internal preparation of the financial information, reports, chart, and graphs for presentation to RBS executive management. 5-7 years direct Payroll and Accounting experience. The position will use applications such as QuickBooks Desktop, Microsoft Excel, Gusto, ADP TotalSource, Paychex Flex, Rippling and Sales Force. Must have a broad depth of Microsoft Teams experience.
This position is part time (20-30) hours per week) remote in the PST time zone. Remote work where you can work from anywhere in the United States. Must be available to work Monday-Friday PST business hours to meet client needs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage the entire payroll process by reviewing and processing timesheets and payroll reports
- Recording financial reports
- Process monthly bookkeeping entries
- Documenting accounting transaction details
- Preparing financial and payroll reports
- Processing employer and employee taxes
- Onboarding and offboarding employees
- Client management communication and relationship
- Internal communication and a well working relationship with RBS Executive Management
- General understanding of federal and state employment laws especially CA

- Requirements:
- 5 years of Payroll and booking experience
- Proven experience as a Payroll/Accounting Specialist or similar role
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and regulations
- Proficient in using payroll software
- Proficient at a expert level in working with Microsoft excel: formulas: sumifs(), index(), vlookup(), sumproduct(), tables and pivot tables
- Familiarity with HRIS systems for employee data management
- Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Excellent communication skills to interact with employees regarding payroll inquiries
