Accounting/Payroll Specialist
Fluency in AP/AR along with processing payroll for weekly and bi-weekly employees.
Reports to:
The Controller
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Track outgoing payments
· Verify expense reports
· Track and pay sales and use tax
· Pay vendors and service providers
· Reconcile statements and payment records
· Ensure payment credits are applied correctly
· Correspond with vendors regarding billing and payments
· Analyze accounts
· Prepare reports
· Streamline the payment process
· Assist with audits
· Review vendor and service provider agreements
· Negotiate with vendors and service providers to secure discounts
· Processing, verifying, and posting receipts for goods sold or services rendered
· Researching and resolving account discrepancies
· Processing and recording transactions
· Maintaining records regarding payments and account statuses
· Working with the collections department to review accounts, client payments, credit history, and develop new or better repayment terms
· Sending bill reminders, filing paperwork, and contacting clients to discuss their accounts
· Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
· Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
· Works with HR Director on any information relative to payroll needed.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.
- Excellent communication skills

Days/Hours:
Monday thru Friday- 8am to 4:30pm
Pay:
· Bi-weekly Pay
· $24 hourly rate
Education/Experience Requirements:
· High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
· Associates or Bachelors degree in accounting preferred
· Previous Accounting, AP/AR experience required (1-2 years required)
· Previous Payroll Experience preferred (1-2 years preferred)
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
