WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Payroll Administration
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Implement, maintain, and review payroll systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions: salaries, benefits, commissions, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Review and process quarterly and year-end payroll taxes and submit bi-weekly withholdings.
- Work closely with People + Culture on benefits administration, leaves of absence processing and payroll audits.
- Respond to employee payroll questions.
- Process expense reports through Concur and manage new user onboarding + training.
- Reconcile W2 wages and payroll tax reports quarterly to resolve any discrepancies.
- Prepare general ledger journal entries for payroll transactions.
- Receive, enter, answer, and file garnishments in accordance with federal and state requirements.
- Manage federal and multi-state government compliance filing, reports and posting.
- File annual EEO-1 report; maintain records, reports, and logs to comply with EEO regulations.
- Ensure compliance and best practice with federal, multi-state, and local wage and hour laws.
Benefits Administration
- Manage and audit benefits enrollment, terminations, and QE changes for Intereum's comprehensive benefit plans.
- Manage benefits reconciliation, update employee deductions, and ensure timely payment with insurance carriers and other vendors.
- Track and balance all Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions.
- Manage 401k administration and participate in internal and external audits.
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:
- 5+ years' experience in payroll and benefits administration.
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree, preferably in Accounting, Human Resources or equivalent experience.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with employee information.
- Solid understanding of payroll, payroll tax laws, HRIS and payroll platforms.
- Strong excel skills: pivot table, v-lookups, filters etc.
- Understand leave of absence and applicable laws and regulations as it relates to payroll.
- Strong communication skills - capability to communicate clearly to all levels of leadership and with employees directly.
