The Payroll Administrator is a member of the HR Operations team and is responsible for all aspects of payroll processing for CSM Corporation and its associated entities, using UKG Payroll platforms. This role's primary responsibilities will be executing payroll processes and developing system expertise. There will be ample opportunity to work and collaborate with the HR Operations team (Benefits, HRIS, and Compensation) and the broader HR team (HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and Development & Engagement). The ideal candidate will engage with these opportunities through understanding downstream system impacts, seeking input from users, having a continuous improvement mindset and a willingness to learn and provide excellent service and support.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely paychecks by computing wages, deductions, commissions and bonuses
- Collect and verify employee and timekeeping data
- Prepare bi-weekly payroll for transmittal through UKG
- Validate workflows such as new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, increases, paid time off, etc.
- Manage garnishments, child support orders, and payroll deductions
- Maintain Time and Attendance System in coordination with HRIS and field operations
- Perform audits as necessary
- Validate and create process documentation
- Support HR initiatives
Requirements Specific Qualifications (items are required unless otherwise noted)
- Must have 2+ years of payroll processing experience
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree (preferred)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint and advanced skills in Excel (pivot tables, pivot charts, vlookups)
- Proficiency in UKG Pro, UKG Dimensions, and Kronos Workforce Central is preferred
- Working knowledge of payroll accounting practices and tax laws
- Ability to compile, analyze and tell a story with data
- Ability to understand problems at their root and provide solutions
