Job Description
Position Summary: Assist with the efficient operation of Snyder Dermatology and Breast & Body Center of Austin. Provide excellent customer service to the patients and prospective patients. Assist in the scheduling of patients, maintaining updated patient charts, communicate with physician and clinic staff. Candidates must be smiling and pleasant and represent the practice in a professional manner.
Doctors' office experience preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Greet each patient with a smile upon checking in/out. Inquire as to how their visit went when checking out.
- Review schedule for each day.
- Check in new and established patients.
- Check to ensure demographics are completed in their entirety.
- Copy all new insurance information for established patients. Obtain name, date of birth, and social security number of the policyholder. Scan appropriate documents. Data entry of all demographics, insurance info, etc.
- Get updated medical history and other necessary outstanding paperwork from established patients.
- During patient check out, ensure all items and services performed are priced and totaled, collect appropriate monies from patient and provide patient with a receipt. Ensure that all inventory items are taken out of inventory.
- Enter all product purchases into EMR and provide patient with a printed receipt.
- Make follow up appointments with patient at the time of check out.
- Assist in the process of patient rescheduling due to doctor scheduling changes.
- Contact patients who have missed their appointments to reschedule.
- Process all medical records requests within at least 2 weeks of the receipt of the request.
- · Responsible for all incoming and outgoing faxes and confirmations.
- · Keep front desk area and waiting room neat, orderly and stocked.
- Answer telephone, screen calls, direct to proper source. Write appropriate phone messages for staff when needed. Document patient calls in EMR.
- Respect and maintains patient confidentiality. Abides by HIPAA regulations.
Typical Physical Demands:Position requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping reaching and stretching. Good hand dexterity for operating computers and keyboards. Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Regular hours of work:
Monday through Thursday: 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. or until last patient leaves
Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
