Patient Collections Specialist

Deer Oaks – The Behavioral Health Solution is a leading provider of behavioral health services across the country and is now growing its administrative team. Our Revenue Cycle department is seeking a full -time experienced Patient Collections Specialist. Be a part of the Deer Oaks Difference. The Patient Collections Specialist works as a member of the Collections Department.

Responsibilities Include:

• Handles all incoming Patient Accounts phone calls
• Handles collections of all patient receivables
• Process patient credit card payments received by phone and/or mail, to include posting of payment
• Point of contact for Patients/Patients Representatives and Facilities
• Works all Patient Accounts correspondence
• Works Texas Self Pay queues
• Works Texas Medicaid Pending queues and reports
• Responsible for minimizing and maintaining aging of patient accounts
• Initiates patient refund requests
• Coordinates with other Revenue Cycle Staff

Qualifications:

• Healthcare collections experience is preferred
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be computer literate
• Have good interpersonal skills
• Work well individually as well as in a team environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Time management
• Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid Preferred
• Basic knowledge of medical billing and collections terminology and regulations
• Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines
• Ability to maneuver through assigned work queues
• Correctly interpret EOBs/Remit information
• Solution oriented
• Clearly documents all information obtained while working accounts
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to spot trends and escalates accordingly
• Ability to work with performance goals and measurements
