Job Summary: The Kitchen Supervisor will work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in supervising the kitchen and the staff, ensuring the quality preparation of all menu items and proper handling/storage of all food items in accordance with standard regulations.
Essential Job Functions:
• Assist in the planning and development of recipes, and ensure the correct preparation and presentation of a consistent level for all food items prepared through production and demonstration.
• Prepare food items according to guest orders of consistent quality following recipe cards, as well as production, portion, and presentation standards; complete mis en place and set-up station for lunch, and dinner service.
• Ensure that sanitation standards are set, and local, state, and federal regulations are in compliance as well as the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
• Assist in maintaining control systems which will assure quality and portion consistency, monitor food shipments to ensure they meet established purchasing specifications as well and foster an awareness of the importance of food preparation and quality.
• Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met as well as attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
• Assist the Sous Chef to update recipe standards and develop new menus and concepts
• Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Experience:
• 2-3 years experience as a Lead Line Cook displaying excellent leadership skills.
• Highly-developed knowledge of various culinary styles and mastery of all line level cooking stations.
• Minimum 2 years of previous experience in a culinary position
• The ability to comfortably lead a team in a busy atmosphere

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and math analysis skills
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as recipes, memos, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to perform all hourly kitchen staffs' essential functions
• Ability to take ownership and lead culinary team within assigned area of responsibility
• Ability to calculate and apply figures and amounts in recipe and labor costing and control
• Ability to follow delegation while providing technical and management troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques
