SalaryReporting to the Executive Pastry Chef, the pastry chef works with a small team of 6 to create all of the delectable desserts and breads that we provide to our Members.
This is a full-time AM (morning) position. Scheduled days are typically Tuesday – Sunday with two days off per week.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Executes banquet events of up to 500 people
- Prepares all baked goods, pastries and other bakery items per production.
- Oversees pastry cart and buffet dessert table set-up and presentation
- Helps maintain the cleanliness of bake shop
- Schedules production of baked goods to maintain an inventory of freshly baked goods at all times
- Prepares and serves items in accordance with established recipe and presentation standards
- Sets up, maintains and breaks down work station
- Notifies Executive Pastry Chef in advance of expected product shortages
- Requisitions supplies as needed to prepare menu items
- Ensures that work area is safe and secure
- Maintains neat professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness rules at all times
- Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations
- Maintains the highest sanitary conditions
Qualifications and Personal Characteristics
- 3-5 years’ experience in a from scratch production bakery
- At least 1 years’ experience managing a shift/supervising small team
- Fluent English speaker
- Able to take direction well from supervisors. Responds well to suggestions from others
- Able to focus on timing, organization and sanitation
- Detail-oriented – you understand that the little things count
- Follows established processes
- Is cool under pressure
- Acts with the Members in mind. Naturally able to anticipate the needs/wants of Members
- Is a timely and effective communicator to Members and co-workers
- Texas Food Handler Certified
