JOB SUMMARY
A Fare Extraordinaire (AFE) is a full-service catering and event planning company. The Pastry Cook position is responsible for contributing to the production of various baked goods by following pre-established recipes and company procedures. The Pastry Cook will report directly to the Executive Pastry Chef.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook, baker, or relevant role.
- Working knowledge of baking processes and ingredient knowledge.
- Read event menus and communicate with team on product needed.
- Follow recipes and produce products within the guidelines of the department.
- Decorate pastries using different icings, garnishes etc. to ensure the presentation will be accurate to the product description.
- Keep an organized and clean work area.
- Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards.
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
- Proficient working in a detail oriented environment on a daily basis for prolonged periods of time.
- Assist in monitoring inventory for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and place orders with sous chef as necessary.
- Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
- Work events in event space as well as offsite venues where scheduled.
- Complete projects and tasks in a timely manner.
- When finished with your prep for the day, jump in and help other departments if necessary.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Has Food Handler's Permit and is TABC certified
- Has experience in pastry and desserts
- Excels in a detail-oriented environment for prolonged periods of time.

DESCRIPTION OF PACKAGE
- This is a part-time, hourly position
- Seasonal schedule
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
