Job Summary
Part-Time Temporary Library Assistant
Monday – Thursday between 9am and 3pm; Fridays 9am-1pm
Monday – Thursday between 9am and 3pm; Fridays 9am-1pm
Shifts are a minimum of 2 hours
Total of 12-20 hours each week
Essential Functions
Provide basic library support services.
Typical duties may include: assisting with basic information questions, assisting with basic computer user support, checking materials in and out, processing materials, shelving, straightening and cleaning.
Occasional opening and/or closing library

Required Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to plan, organize and manage time.
Demonstrated ability to succeed in a small, team-based work group.
Demonstrated customer service experience working with a wide variety of individuals coming from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of current software applications.
Technical aptitude in both hardware and software applications.

Desired Qualifications
Post secondary education.
Experience working in an academic library.
Ability to plan, implement and finalize projects according to the specifications and deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters with discretion and proper judgment.
