Job Overview:
This is a hybrid position for a Sales Assistant and Merchandiser within the San Antonio market. Retail Sales Assistants are the link between wholesalers, buyers, and the sales floor, ensuring the right stock is in the right place at the right time to maximize sales and margin performance. They ensure that the correct mix of products are stocked and displayed, to achieve greater sales and maximize exposure. They liaise closely with buying and store operations teams to make sure the stock is properly monitored and available, monitoring slow sellers and providing ideas for a solution, and increasing the stock of those products that are proving popular. The successful Sales Assistant will also offer customer service to our retail store owners by answering questions, tracking down lost orders, getting customers the products they need and resolving potential paperwork issues.
Sales Assistant Responsibilities
- Maintain and grow stores within designated route.
- Collaborate with customers to create attractive sales floor displays and make sure that our product is prominently displayed.
- Act as the liaison between customers and the company by addressing customer issues and solving customer problems.
- Assist customers in creating an organized back stock that allows for easier product accessibility.
- Fill and rotate all product in the cold boxes.
- Obtain knowledge on the products to hand sell while in the account.
- Perform sales support functions to include the oversight of the shelf space, consistent communication with sales representatives regarding changes in buyer preferences and or out of stock inventory concerns/situations encountered during business hours.
- Stay knowledgeable of business/market conditions, recognize new opportunities within each account and support the sales representative's visibility and market saturation in the account.
Merchandiser skills
- High school diploma/GED required (associate degree preferred)
- 1-2 years’ experience in merchandising or retail
- Possess a dependable vehicle, valid driver's license, an acceptable driving record, proof of state car registration and insurance.
- Lift and carry a 45+ pound case of product on a repetitive basis.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must obtain/have a working cellular phone.
- Strong customer service skills required.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.50 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 10 per week
