Description: As a Human Resources Intern at Pinnacle, this PACK member will play a crucial role in assisting the HR team with data entry, record maintenance, and filing. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in HR operations within an educational setting, providing an opportunity to learn and grow in the field of Human Resources and receive mentorship and guidance from experienced HR professionals. Additionally, the intern will have exposure to K-12 education along with networking opportunities within the education sector.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to: Human Resources Generalist
Direct Reports: This is a non-supervisory position.
Compensation & Benefits:
This is an hourly internship, working approximately 15-20 hours per week. The hourly rate is $20.00 - $22.00/hour, depending upon education and experience. The ideal internship duration will be through summer 2024 minimum.
Essential Functions:
Data Entry and Record Maintenance:
- Assist in accurately entering employee data into HR databases and systems.
- Update and maintain employee records, ensuring information is current and complete.
- Support HR staff in organizing and digitizing paper records for easy access.
Filing and Document Management:
- Organize and maintain physical and digital HR files.
- Create and manage filing systems to ensure quick retrieval of documents.
- Assist in scanning, photocopying, and archiving HR-related documents.
Compliance Assistance:
- Collaborate with HR team members to ensure compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations.
- Assist in tracking and monitoring employee certifications and credentials.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive HR information.
Support HR Projects:
- Participate in special HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Collaborate with HR staff to improve HR processes and procedures.
Additionally:
- Regular and timely attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an associates or bachelor's degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communication, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to the HR team's success.
- Prior internship or coursework related to Human Resources is a plus but not required.
Working Conditions:
Exposure/Noise Level: Normal school/office environment with moderate to high noise level.
Mental Functions: Analyze, collaborate, communicate, compare, compile data, compute, coordinate, copy, evaluate, interpersonal skills, present, report, synthesize.
Physical Activities: O?ce environment including computer interface. Bend, reach, sit, stand, stoop, talk, walk, and some person-to-person interaction with staff.
Weight and Force Demands: Moderate physical activity (lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 25 pounds).
